The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
