Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that [so many] learned men from among the children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
