Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "I HAVE been informed that a number of jinns had listened; then said: 'We have heard the wondrous Qur'an, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 And that we sought to reach heaven, but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming stars. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
