The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And the day resplendent 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 surely your strivings are divergent. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 for him shall We make easy the path towards [ultimate] ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And rejects goodness, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
