The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Triumphant indeed are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 these are the heirs 10 who will inherit Paradise; they shall live there for ever. 11 We created man from an essence of clay, 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 Then We created of the drop, a clot (of congealed blood) and We created the clot into bitesize tissue, then We created the bitesize tissue into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it an other creation. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators! 14 after this you shall surely die. 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you, and whereof you eat. 19 and a tree issuing from the Mount of Sinai that bears oil and seasoning for all to eat. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
