And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They answered: "There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you, and your elderly fathers? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 and Who, when I am ill, heals me; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day when nothing will avail, neither wealth nor offspring, 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 and they will be asked: "Where now is all that you were wont to worship 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 and no sincere friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
