The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 by the Visited House, 4 And the lofty roof. 5 and the sea swarming, 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 The mountains move and fly away, 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
