NAY, but consider the moon! 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
