And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: by no means. So go ye twain with Our signs; verily We shall be with you listening. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 Yet you were ungrateful and have done the deed you did' 19 Moses said: "I did it then, when I was in error. 20 So I ran away from you out of fear. But my Lord has given me wisdom, and made me an apostle. 21 And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 (Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief. 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 He said, 'The Lord of the East and West, and what between them is, if you have understanding,' 28 (Pharaoh) said: If thou choosest a god other than me, I assuredly shall place thee among the prisoners. 29 Said Moosa, “Even if I bring to you something clear?” 30 [Pharaoh] answered: "Produce it, then, if thou art a man of truth!" 31 Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
