Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
