Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Did they come into being without any creator? Or were they their own creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a god other than God? Exalted be God over what they ascribe as partners [to Him]! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 36]. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
