The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
