Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
