Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
