۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then the Pharaoh sent announcers to the cities, 53 (Saying): "Verily! These indeed are but a small band. 54 And lo! they are offenders against us. 55 And most surely we are a vigilant multitude. 56 and so we have [rightly] driven them out of [their] gardens and springs, 57 their treasures and a noble station. 58 Thus it was; and We made the children of Israel possess them. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and, when the two hosts sighted each other, the companions of Moses said, 'We are overtaken!' 61 He said: Nay, verily! for lo! my Lord is with me. He will guide me. 62 Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain. 63 And We caused the pursuers to draw near unto that place: 64 and We delivered Moses and his companions, all of them, 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 67 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 68
