Al-Najm 3 of 3
Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
