Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
