Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Quran so that you may understand. 3 And surely it is in the original of the Book with Us, truly elevated, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many a Prophet have We sent amongst the men of old. 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 It is He who has sent down water from the sky in a known measure by which He has given life to the dead earth. In the same way will you also be resurrected. 11 He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. 12 so that you may sit firmly on their backs. Then once you have mounted them, remember your Lord's favour and say, "Glory be to Him who has subjected these creatures to us; we would never on our own have subdued them. 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
