Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
