Prostration
< random >
Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him. قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
