The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 On lined couches, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And shade extended 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
