Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those hurling a reminder 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
