Said Moosa, “My Lord, open up my breast for me.” 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 “Back me up with him.” 31 And let him share my task, 32 so that we exalt You 33 "And remember You much, 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 But speak gently to him; perhaps he may yet take heed or even feel afraid." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that a punishment will fall on those who belie and turn away." 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each thing its form and nature, then guided it aright." 50 (The Pharaoh) said: "And what about the former generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
