Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
