Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.” 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
