So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or say they: he hath fabricated it: aye they will not believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Do they have another god besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to the idols. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment besides this: But most of them understand not. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
