Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From Nutfah (drops of semen male and female discharges) when it is emitted; 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
