The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
