We also favoured Moses and Aaron, 114 And saved them and their people from great distress, 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 We gave them the explicit Book, 117 guided them to the right path, 118 And left (their remembrance) for posterity. 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 they were among Our believing servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they called him a liar, therefore they shall most surely be brought up. 127 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 128 And We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 And at night. Then will you not use reason? 138
