In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of (mount) Tur. 1 and a Book inscribed 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 by the House inhabited 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains shudder and shake. 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will turn to one another and ask (regarding the past events). 25 saying, "We were afraid while in the world. 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
