He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 But as to him who came to you running. 8 And whereas he fears, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 and fruits and fodder 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 laughing and joyous 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
