The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
