The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
