1/4 Hizb 31
< random >
And they ask thee of Zul Qarnain. Say thou: I shall recite unto you of him some mention. 83 Indeed We established him upon the earth, and We gave him to everything a way. 84 With these he traveled 85 Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it [as if] setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found near it a people. Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness." 86 He said, "As for one who wrongs, we will punish him. Then he will be returned to his Lord, and He will punish him with a terrible punishment. 87 But as for him who believes and does righteous deeds - he will have the ultimate good [of the life to come] as his reward; and [as for us,] we shall make binding on him [only] that which is easy to fulfill." 88 He travelled again 89 until he reached the limit where the sun rises and he found it rising on a people whom We had provided no shelter from it. 90 Even so! and We had a full knowledge of what he had. 91 He again pursued a purpose. 92 Until when he reached (a place) between the two mountains, he found on that side of them a people who could hardly understand a word. 93 They said: 'O Dhu'l-Qarnain, Gog and Magog are oppressing the land. May we pay you some tribute so that you could build a rampart between us and them?" 94 He said: "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute): Help me therefore with strength (and labour): I will erect a strong barrier between you and them: 95 Bring me blocks of iron; until when he had filled up the space between the two mountain sides, he said: Blow, until when he had made it (as) fire, he said: Bring me molten brass which I may pour over it. 96 Thereafter they could neither scale it, nor could they pierce it. 97 He said: "This is a mercy from my Lord: But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it into dust; and the promise of my Lord is true." 98 ۞ And on that day We shall release them in groups surging like waves one after another, and the Trumpet will be blown so We shall gather them all together. (* Gog and Magog will come out during the time of Eisa (Jesus when he comes back to earth) and cause great destruction in the land.) 99 And on that Day We shall present Hell to the disbelievers, plain to view, 100 those whose eyes had been veiled against any remembrance of Me because they could not bear to listen [to the voice of truth]! 101
