The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the close of night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
