Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 in a Garden on high, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 So do they not see the camel how it has been created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.
