▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,- 75 and, indeed, that is a most mighty oath, if you only knew -- 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 inscribed in a well-guarded Book, 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 A revelation by the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? 81 Would you reject the sustenance that you receive rather than give thanks? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 and while We are closer to him than you, although you see [Us] not: 85 If you are true to your claim that there is no Day of Judgment, 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 Then if he is one of those drawn nigh (to Allah), 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 and if he be a Companion of the Right: 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 a welcome of burning despair [awaits him in the life to come,] 93 And a hurling into the blazing fire. 94 That indeed is the absolute truth. 95 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
