The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
