Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 and when the graves are overturned 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be able to hide from it. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
