The Thamud (also) rejected (their) Warners. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Has the [Divine] message been revealed to him alone of all of us? No, he is a boastful liar." 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 “We shall send a she-camel to test them, therefore O Saleh, wait and have patience.” 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn. 34 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. 35 Lot warned them against Our torment, but they persistently disputed it. 36 They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings! 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 40
