Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
