The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
