Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 laboring, wornout, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 therein a running fountain, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
