The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 Then thereby raise dust, 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord, 6 And most surely he is a witness of that. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 their Lord will examine his deeds? 11
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
