In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 When he came near the fire he was called, "Moses, 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 He said, “Put it down, O Moosa! 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 So We would show thee some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel." 24

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
