Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion, and He is Able to do all things. 1 [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps) (as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing Fire. 5 For those who believe not in their Lord there is the punishment of Hell; and what a wretched destination 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they shall say: Had we but listened or pondered, we should not have been among the inmates of the burning fire. 10 So they acknowledge their sins; but far removed (from mercy) are the dwellers in the flames. 11 For those who fear their Lord in secret is forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Shall He who has created (all things) not know? He is the Subtle, the Aware. 14
