Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
