The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
