۞ And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Iesa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols), behold! Your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example). 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 but he was only a servant We favoured and made an example for the Children of Israel: 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. 61 Let not the Evil One hinder you: for he is to you an enemy avowed. 62 And when Eisa came to them with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to explain to you some of the matters regarding which you dispute; therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 The friends shall on that day be enemies one to another, except those who guard (against evil). 67
