The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER Mount Sinai! 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 On a parchment scroll unrolled, 3 by the House inhabited 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Go now and burn in it. It is all the same whether you bear it patiently or do not bear it with patience. You are only being recompensed for your deeds.” 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will turn to one another ask questions, 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
